Low Pressure Fitness – Mindful Work with Your Core, Breath and Pelvic Floor

Low Pressure Fitness (LPF) is a training and therapeutic system that combines breathing, postural and fascial techniques. Its goal is to regulate intra-abdominal pressure and improve the function of the deep muscles – especially the pelvic floor muscles and the transverse abdominis.

The method comes from hypopressive techniques, which have been used since the 1980s in postnatal rehabilitation. The modern form of LPF was developed in Spain, adding fascial science and breathing training to the original approach.

During the workshop, you will learn how to reduce and balance the pressure in your abdominal cavity, instead of unconsciously increasing it – which is very important for women’s health, posture and the appearance of the belly.

LPF is for you if you:

  • are looking for ways to improve the function of your abdominal and pelvic floor muscles
  • experience recurring back pain
  • cannot feel your pelvic floor muscles working
  • want to reduce your waist size
  • have digestive problems, constipation, etc.
  • want to improve your fitness and athletic performance
  • are tired of doing classic abdominal exercises that don’t give satisfying results
  • have health conditions that mean you should avoid more intense exercise

What will you experience during the workshop?

  • learning the hypopressive manoeuvre (breath hold with diaphragm and rib work)
  • lower rib breathing techniques
  • exercises to open the chest
  • exercises for a mobile spine
  • exercises that activate the deep muscles without pushing or tensing the belly
  • postural positions based on myofascial lines
  • deep relaxation and nervous system regulation

Who is this workshop for?

  • women after childbirth*
  • women with diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation)
  • women with pelvic floor issues (urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse)
  • women with endometriosis, painful periods or a tense abdomen
  • women recovering from abdominal surgery* (including scar work)
  • people who experience stress or have a sedentary lifestyle
  • people with back pain
  • as a complement to intense training (weightlifting, running, CrossFit)

Contraindications

The hypopressive manoeuvre should not be performed:

  • during pregnancy
  • with uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • with active cardiovascular conditions
  • during acute abdominal inflammation

Urinary incontinence, diastasis recti and endometriosis are not contraindications – quite the opposite, they are reasons to use this method.

If you are pregnant and would like to join the LPF workshop (without the hypopressive manoeuvre) – please let me know!

Places are limited.

*Please note: After a caesarean section, laparoscopy or laparotomy, a minimum of 12 weeks must pass before you can participate in the workshop.
